Named after the Earl Of Eglinton.
No gentle introduction to the rigours of the game. Its length is somewhat unusual for a first hole. Plenty of heather lies in wait for the wild or unwary shot - on both sides. The second shot is blind and the green a mere saucer, defended on the right by formidable bunkers. Also the approach to the green has a barely noticeable rise.
